I would like to share a blog post from California-based travel writer/blogger/equestrian Nancy D. Brown. In her blog, Writing Horseback, Nancy covers everything from horseback riding vacations to equestrian-themed cookies and horse-loving country music celebrities.
About a month ago, Nancy invited me to do a Q&A to tell her readers about my annual “Hats Off to the Horses” Derby hat fundraiser for the retired racehorses of Old Friends Equine in Kentucky. Old Friends is a non-profit Thoroughbred retirement center in Georgetown, Kentucky. For the past four years I have been creating and donating one of a kind Derby hats to our annual “Hats Off to the Horses”, a 6-month auction series with all of the proceeds going to the horses at Old Friends.
Please enjoy and share Nancy’s blog post, Hats and Horses, The Road to the Kentucky Derby and help us to spread the word about this unique Derby hat auction series that supports the retired racehorses of Old Friends and beyond!
Year five of our series kicks off again November 1, 2013 and runs through April 2014, and Nancy’s blog request seemed like the perfect way to start getting everyone excited as we look forward to our fifth year of this fundraiser. Please visit the MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® website for updates.
As always, thank you for visiting Hats and Horses!
