I would like to share a blog post from California-based travel writer/blogger/equestrian Nancy D. Brown. In her blog, Writing Horseback, Nancy covers everything from horseback riding vacations to equestrian-themed cookies and horse-loving country music celebrities.
About a month ago, Nancy invited me to do a Q&A to tell her readers about my annual “Hats Off to the Horses” Derby hat fundraiser for the retired racehorses of Old Friends Equine in Kentucky. Old Friends is a non-profit Thoroughbred retirement center in Georgetown, Kentucky. For the past four years I have been creating and donating one of a kind Derby hats to our annual “Hats Off to the Horses”, a 6-month auction series with all of the proceeds going to the horses at Old Friends.

I’ve been following Maggie Mae Designs for a while, enjoying her wonderful posts and her beautiful hat designs. She is involved in an awesome cause to help retired horses enjoy their golden years kicking up their hooves in safe pastures. The Hats off to the Horses auction starts November 1st.
