Blog-DerbyHatCountdownPoster-2015-58HatsThere is something wonderful about natural linen hats. The color provides the perfect neutral backdrop for almost any trim imaginable. When trims are set against the natural linen, the colors just seem to bring out “the scrumptious” in one another.

Recently I created a new Derby “Sallita” hat design to celebrate the magic of natural linen with coral trimmings. I began with a hat foundation created out of natural linen in the classic Sallita brim style.

Blog-SallitaDer6-044B-Web.MedFor the trim centerpiece I created three medium rose curls out of coral shantung and organza and framed them with a sprawling medley of dusty sage silk leaves.
