MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® Derby Hat Countdown – 51 of 101

The Derby Hat Countdown continues featuring 101 Derby hats created by MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS®!

Today we are featuring Hat #51, the stunning “Regina’s Corinne” extra wide brim design found in Salon 2 of the Derby Hat Collection

Blog-DerbyHatCountdownPoster-2015-51HatsA wonderful lady named Regina contacted me one year for a custom Derby hat design. It was Regina’s first Derby adventure and her husband had given her a Derby hat with custom design consultation as a gift. Regina told me that she had fallen in love with my original “Corinne” hat…which has been a favorite among my customers for both the Derby and Royal Ascot as well as fancy teas and weddings.

Blog-CorinneDer161-001BRegina found a coral dress that she liked and wondered if I could add a splash of coral tones to the Corinne. The result was a luscious new Corinne design kicked up a notch and trimmed with a vibrant coral organza Marguerite, matching satin sash, tulle and buttons. When Regina received her hat, she said that it made her feel “like royalty”!

Blog-ReginasCorinneDer161-002GLike Regina, the Corinne style is one of my favorites. I wonder what someone will envision for the next custom version of this amazing chapeau… I guess we’ll all have to wait and see!
