Today we are featuring Hat #34, the “Zophie”, a Derby fascinator design that is found in Derby Hat Salon 4 at

Blog-DerbyHatCountdownPoster-2015-34HatsFascinators and cocktail hats have been making a splash at Churchill Downs for the past several years. A long-time tradition at Royal Ascot, fascinators are now considered by some to be as much a part of Derby tradition as the classic wide brims.

Black dupioni silk forms the foundation for the “Zophie” design. The fascinator features a small black satin rose curl set into a medley of black dupioni silk leaves that spill over her edges. Black French ribbons, sparkling sequined braiding and black tulle sprays are the finishing flourishes that truly make “Zophie” sparkle.
