Hats Off to King Congie of Old Friends at Cabin Creek!

The 2019 “Hats Off to the Horses: The Road to the Derby” for Old Friends sponsored exclusively by MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® kicks off with the first auction hat of the season, the “King Congie”!

The first hat up for bid in our 2019 Hats Off to the Horses auction series for Old Friends honors King Congie, a retiree at Old Friends’ satellite farm in New York, Old Friends at Cabin Creek: The Bobby Frankel Division. After being rescued in August 2016 from an auction pen by Rosemary Farm Sanctuary, the dark bay son of Badge of Silver was retired to Old Friends at Cabin Creek thanks to the generosity of West Point Thoroughbreds.

A special thank you to Connie Bush of Tiger Eye Photography for her beautiful images of King Congie, and to newly-crowned Miss Connecticut USA 2019 and The Stronach Group’s, Acacia Courtney, for being an outstanding model for this hat.
