Each year MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® and Old Friends team up for an unparalleled online Derby hat auction, “Hats Off to the Horses: The Road to the Derby”. For the first seven years of this unique Derby hat auction, the series began on November 1st and featured six months of one-of-a-kind couture Kentucky Derby hats created by MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® to benefit Old Friends Equine of Kentucky; starting in 2017 the auction became a four-month long series. Each month, one custom hat is created to honor one of the retirees of Old Friends. The auction series has been a great success, and we wanted to offer a page where visitors could come and enjoy all of the hats and the horses of Old Friends who inspired them!
